When I sent out the email that the Wallow had been posted last week I mentioned the annual parade of pint sized extortionists that happens every Oct 31. In an effort to help me Assfault suggested, "You know what I have found, when the cute little goblins and ghosts show up, release the hounds. It's Halloween, scares the crap right out of them." Thank you for the help Scott but I live in a condo with a small dog rule. Somehow I don't think releasing my "Grandpug" would scare anybody unless they were allergic to slobber.
Maybe it was Halloween but for some strange reason 7 franchises improved the odds of winning a little bit for the rest of us by failing to enter picks this week. We thank you for your service! Of course it was not quite enough to take me to the podium but thank you nonetheless!
D-Man wrote me Monday, "Hey: finally can see the e mails of hope not mumbled jumbled, just turn the cell sideways(thanks to Brady Bunch)There are a lot of ties this season for the money ,more than usual,I think!Spread the wealth around.Looking forward to tonight’s game.Go Chiefs!" I use a computer to do my stuff but this tip may prove useful to many of you. Thank you Darin!
As for the increased number of ties I believe it is because of the scoring system. Under our old system 200,150, 100 etc there was a greater differential in the values of picks which resulted in a wider spread of points.
Just for your amusement I thought I would share this pic of me making my pics. I think it pretty much explains my success, or rather lack thereof!
THE ROTTERS REPORT:
Who is Stan Kroenke?
Last month, I was invited by a friend to his cabin on Nimpo Lake in the Chilcotin to get in some fishing. On the way back, we saw
directional signs to the Gang Ranch. We wondered if it was still the largest cattle ranch in the world. Once back home, I looked
it up and here is what I found:
The Gang Ranch was the largest cattle ranch in the world but now the second largest cattle ranch in BC. It is owned by a
Saudi Arabian. The largest cattle ranch in BC is the Douglas Lake Ranch south of Kamloops. The Douglas Lake Ranch is owned by
Stan Kroenke, an American who also owns the Los Angeles Rams of the NFL, the Denver Nuggets of the NBA, the Colorado Avalanche
of the NHL and the Arsenal Football Club of the English Premier League. He also owns several other large cattle ranches in BC
and the United States. He is married to Anne Walton, a Walmart heiress. You can never have enough money!
After 9 weeks of play, D Man has pulled away from the crowd with 11 emails of hope, Squash Bros and the Rhino are tied 2nd place, having received 7 emails each. There is a five way tie for 4th place, Sassychassis, Chainman, Ben Naaykens, Assfault and Muttley with 6 emails each.

behind as the winners are not known at time of writing.
Until next week,

The Monica Award - The Green Giant ended up 3 points from the podium this week. I Suspect that Steve would be content to do that every week for the rest of the season. He is currently leading the pool and finishing this well will maintain serve if he can do it consistantly. Of course if he had earned 3 more points he would have won about $7 which would have purchased... well, not much these days.
The POW Award - Eight franchises picked the Panthers to maul the Saints this week. I am not going to list that many franchises but you know who you are and you should be proud. Of course, anybody who is proud of seeing Saints mauled should question their life choices, but you go ahead and strut. Well done all of you!
The Celler Dweller - It kind feels like piling on to berate XFailure too! for earning 82 points this week. Heck, we have all seen weeks when we would have been delighted with this score but when you consider that 40 franchises earned at least 100 points I guess the best you can say is that he had a mediocre week.
Without further ado, this weeks winners, and we honour and congratulate them are....
1st Kiss My Ace - Karen ended up 5 points from a perfect week. Go Browns! -
2nd (T) D-Man - Darin wrote in,"It’s gonna be a tough game. Tampa has to play hard against the refs, refs have been doing well this year they are still 7-0. For the 20th time in his nearly two decade career, John Hussey will be officiating a game involving the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It’s not particularly great news for the Bucs, who are 8-11 all-time when Hussey is part of the officiating crew." I wonder what Tampa Bays average winning percentage is over those years and also if Hussey gets premier games which would mean tougher opponents on average? Just asking.
2nd (T) Brady Bunch -I don't know if we have ever had a father and son both on the podium and both at the same level before in this pool. Certainly not that I can recall.
4th(T) Muttley - I bit of Kibble but at this rate the dawg is going to have to go on a diet!
4th(T) Miss P - OK - Paula won't be going on a cruise with her winnings but she won't be collecting the Tin Cup at the end of the season either.
4th(T) Dinky - Richard is... well, not standing erect but at least not laying limp and flacid now that he too has been eliminated from TC contention.
My thought for this week, Last night the internet stopped working, so I spent a few hours with my family. They seem like good people
'Til next week then...
