The Pickers Football League pool is an internet based pool which is run on CBS Sportsline.
An invitation is needed to join the pool so if you are reading this and would like to join or invite a friend send an email to the Rhino on the main page.
The Pool involves picking the winner of each NFL game every week of the season. After you pick the winners (each week) you arrange them in order of
how sure you are that they will win.
If correct, each game has a value starting with your first pick worth 200 points then each descending
pick in order is worth 150, 100, 80, 60, 40, 30, 28, 26, 24, 22, 20, 18, 16, 14 and 12 points up to the
number of games played each week. Games that you pick incorrectly have no value, as do NFL games that end up tied
All the points earned are added to give your weekly total and the 4 franchises with the highest total(s) win the
weekly prize pool sharing 40, 30 20 and 10% of the pool
The franchises with the top total scores for the season will share the year end prize pool in the same proportions.
In the event of tie scores franchises will divide the prize pools equally, that is if two tie for 2nd they will share 2nd
and 3rd place winnings and the next highest will get 4th place winnings.
The entry fee is $113 - this divides in the following manner:
There are 18 weeks in the NFL season and 5$ goes to the weekly prize pool = $90
The next $20 of the entry fee goes to the final prize pool.
The next $2 goes to the franchise(s) with the longest streak of correct #1 picks during the season.
The final $1 for the entry fee is the only portion that is not returned as prizes. This dollar is to cover most of the pool expenses such as stamps, envelopes, cheques etc.
The weekly prize pool will be 5 times the number of franchises in the pool and the final prize pool will be 20 times the number of franchises
Each franchise is responsible for entering their own picks which can be done up to 1 hour prior to the kickoff of the first game of the week
Should you fail to enter your picks you will receive the lowest points earned for the week. I repeat -
It will be your responsibility to enter your own picks
Cheques or e-transfers will be sent for the winnings after the season ends. Please ensure that the Rhino and/or Chainman have your
email and snailmail addresses as well as a contact phone number.
